Error: "... selected opportunity could not be locked for edit because another user is currently accessing the opportunity"

Does anyone have a resolution to this error mgs?

“The selected opportunity could not be locked for edit because another user is currently accessing the opportunity”.

We're trying to deallocate an opportunity (for days now) but we can't because of this error msg that pops up.

Wow quick response from BB Support.

There is a Global Change feature that “Unlock sponsorship opportunities” that when run unlock all sponsorships. The most common reason that accounts for this lock-out, is a user started to edit the opportunity and closed the browser tab without closing the edit form via the 'save' or 'cancel' button.
