Segment REfreshes in Direct Marketing

Is there any way to prevent a segment from refreshing when activating or calculating a marketing effort?

The reason I ask is because we have a lot of segments that are used across multiple marketing efforts. For example, many of our marketing efforts have the primary segment of “All FYXX Individuals With Primary Email Segment”, and then we throw additional criteria in the Universe. We do this a lot when we don't need separate source codes).

We also use some very common exclusions.

These segments do not need to be refreshed every single time we activate a marketing effort, and speeding things up when we're approaching our giving day is very desirable!

I don't think there's any options for this but thought I'd check here.

    @Rick Root The activation settings allow you to choose whether you want to recalculate segments and refresh selections.

  • @Jennifer Borri Thanks. We have that locked, but I would think we probably wouldn't want to uncheck that unless maybe we activated right after calculating (which I think also refreshes segments).

    Would be nice if we could specify to only refresh segments that haven't been already refreshed in a given timeframe. Idea bank I suppose.
