Anti-bot "Puzzle" Problems

Has anyone else been impeded by the little security “puzzles” that appear out of nowhere??

This morning, I successfully logged in, began a [rather complex] series of operations and out of nowhere the little “Find the end of the car's trail'” puzzle popped up.

I have at least two problems with this:

1. It appeared out of nowhere and interrupted/destroyed my train of thought.
2. It DOESN'T WORK! I'm not the most accomplished video gamer, but I cannot get back in!

Is the first thing a result of the phenomenon where, if you are active in one tab in your browser, but another [dormant] tab that is logged into BEM hits the time limit, it logs you out of ALL tabs?

Either way, it should be fixed immediately.
