gradebook

While in Gradebook, a teacher selects the icon in the box for the student in order to view the assignment and when she places points in the assignment the grades do not appear in the gradebook until she closes out and opens gradebook again. Then she can commit grades. Has there been a change? This has just become a problem this week.

  • @Lisa Baylor what browser is she using? I have noticed more issues popping up with Edge lately.

  • @Lisa Baylor
Hello; I'm noticing a similar issue, and it's the same in both Firefox and Edge. I'll click on the icon in a box in the gradebook to view an assignment that a student has submitted, and when I go to the screen where you download the submission, after I've looked over the submission, I'll enter the grade and commit it there, but then when I go back to the gradebook, the grade isn't there. It's not until I switch to another class section, or reload the page, that the grade will appear. And it was only just this past week that this started happening with me too.

  • @Lisa Baylor Our teachers reporting same behavior (on Chrome). A little more detail: When grade is typed and then “return to gradebook” is clicked, the issue presents itself. If you enter the grade and then tab or click out of the field (and staying on same window) you get a Save and Save and Next buttons which do cause a refresh when going back to the gradebook. Weird though, sometimes the Save and Save and Next buttons are there immediately and sometimes it starts with a return to gradebook.

    Cheers, JT

  • @Lauren Henderson My teacher is using Chrome, but in a post above they are noticing it in Edge and Firefox as well.

  • All,

Sorry I haven't seen this until now: I have a case open as this is a newly-introduced problem.

For sure BB knows about it, though it might not hurt to enter a quick email-based case.

Here is the sequence of steps that I've found will illustrate it:

    • Impersonate a teacher
    • Open a class
    • Launch Gradebook
    • For a student click the little icon to the right of the current score of any graded assignment. to bring up the "Evaluate assignment" dialog
    • Click "Go to Student's Assignment" *
    • Change the "Points" to a different value [say, from X to Y]
    • Click "Commit evaluation" [at bottom] *
    • Click "Back to Gradebook"

The page will show X; not Y until you refresh the page. [Y has actually been saved at this point but the page does not reflect it].

  • BB, are you listening? ?

[Lots of good data here. See also case #019310971, which I have open].

  • @john ronan how can we see a this case? In our Case Central it defaults to our school and I don't see where the option is to see any cases outside if ours?

  • @Grace Rios,

Sorry if I was misleading. You would not be able to see my cases. That was just my way of connecting BB folk [who track this Community] with those working the case.

Rest assured, this is a known problem and is being looked at.

  • @john ronan I just had my first report of this as well. Any news on when this will be fixed? Should I create a case?

  • @Lisa Baylor
Hi Lisa, has this been resolved for you?
