How to handle extra present reasons in attendance?

I would like to add more present reasons but it doesn't let me. How is anyone else handling this? For example we want a Field Trip code but marked as present. Anyone have suggestions on work arounds?

@Mary Cummings Hi Mary, we actually mark those on a field trip as absent but have the reason as Field Trip (category is School-Sponsored). This way if we have an emergency, we are not trying to account for those off-campus for another event. Screenshot of that category is attached. Also, by having these items in a separate category we can choose to not count these absences against the student in their total count.

We use it in the Absent Excused category and in the column that says, “Use in calculations”, we say no. That way it doesn't count in their absences.

@Mary Cummings We have an Absent Excused category and record field trips and other school related absences in this area. We've set up a “Reason” code as “Activity Absence” then put a note explaining the absence; Field trip, Volleyball game, etc.
