Password as a publishable field??

In reviewing our Profile Publish Access in Core, I noticed that Password appears in the list of fields that we could (but won't) allow users to publish on their profile/share with other users. Has this always been possible? What would ever be the use-case? I've seen this page so many times over the years and genuinely never saw the password option. Why is this even something we could enable?

  • @Jess Moxsky Hi! Thanks for making us aware of this. I'm going to pass this along to the team.

@Jess Moxsky I don't think these work anymore, but I don't know when they were deprecated. Either way, we should clean that area up. I'll work with my team to have them removed by end of month so there's not even the illusion that we aren't up to industry standard (even though passwords no longer work in Core since the BBID requirement for authentication).

  • Haha, thank you both! I figured with BBID this field wouldn't actually publish anything, but you know the saying about teenagers and a 10-foot fence. :)
