Duplicate gifts entered I cannot remove...

Our Partner Relations department added events to a group of constituents who attended and donated at an event. (I added the gifts to their records - part of my job.) They did this later via NXT and added the gift amounts under registration fees.

In so doing, this has created “phantom” gifts, duplicates actually, for the amount.

I found this by running monthly reports because there were a handful that lacked an appeal, campaign, letter, gift id...

The Partner Relations manager tried to unlink one gift. It no longer showed in the event's registration fees but still showed under gifts, as above. Both of us are unable to delete the gifts created in error. The delete button is greyed out for these duplicates.

If I copy the information from the actual gift, to the duplicate, the gift cannot be deleted as other gifts can. It would have the correct information but still is not the correct way of doing this.

How can I remove the duplicate gifts made in error?

For larger future events, is there a way they can add $ to the event record besides clicking on each one, clicking view gifts, and choosing the correct gift? Thank you!

This is an intentional situation created by Blackbaud to not allow delete of gift created on webview. There is a discussion a year ago about this as well as a workaround on how to delete.
