Expand custom list builder fields before screen is displayed the first time.

I would like to set the length of a field (or all fields) in list builder (custom with spec) so the user does not have to manually expand the column the first time. The only way I have found is to hit the MORE button and choose the autosize all columns. Is there any way when the list builder is created that this can be done with a XML tag in spec or some other way. Thank, Bruce.
