Including Graduate Degree in Addressee (Class of)

We are debating the use of “class of” in some of our Addressees. It is pretty straightforward to do this for the first degree but sometimes we need to add a second degree. Usually, this is a graduate degree which would necessitate including the degree as well.

I don't see a way to configure this easily in the Addressee/Salutations configurations.

How do other Higher Education organizations address handle this?

@Susan ShebarFioribello We do not include 'class of' in the addressees we use.

I don't believe there is a way other than manual editing after output to show a second degree.

  • @Susan ShebarFioribello, we don't include "class of" or degree in our addressees. That being said, the best way I could think of to handle this would be to include it as a separate export/merge field in your mailings. (Addressee line would look like this: <<Addressee>> <<GradClass>>)

Including an extra attribute/education field is easy to do if you are exporting through Export and then merging in Word. It's a little harder if you export via Mail because I think only the Acknowledgement Letters allows attribute output fields; but you could always output via Export and then use Mail for appeal tagging/record processing afterwards.
