Consent

Hello. I'm trying to get a feel for other organisation's best practise with regard to adding new consents. Do others add every new consent received to a constituent record so you have a record of the most recent date and source, or only add a new consent if the consent has changed?

Comments

  • @Jacqueline Mackie, we only add new consents when they change. I'm not sure if that's best practice or not, as far as legal technicalities. As far as database processes, I think it all depends on how you have your triggers set up, for email responses, to update solicit codes, etc.

@Jacqueline Mackie - I agree with Faith, it really depends on where your Org is located and what what is required of your org legally. I typically only enter a consent if it is a change to what we have in the system.

@Jacqueline Mackie - a new reference for Consent (and privacy) practices and how-to's is found here:

while this references doesn't advise on best practices, you'll see details about how RENXT handles some of the latest considerations - like Universal Opt-Outs that come in from browsers that have Global Privacy Controls enabled.
