Unable to Email Receipts/Tickets?

Hi all - is anyone else having this issue? When we go to email receipts or tickets to guests, the following error message pops up: The general purpose process is disabled. Please enable this process prior to submitting general purpose email jobs.

I searched Knowledgebase and unfortunately, the solutions are not for Altru. Any ideas how to fix this? TIA!

    Yep. We had this same problem today. If you go to Administration>Email Services it will show the scheduled email processes are disabled. Go below that and enable all the email processing jobs. And that should correct the issue.

    We had this same issue. Does anyone know why they became disabled all of a sudden?

    According to support: "It looks like this was related to an Incident this past Friday, after our engineers were able to fixed the issue, as a side effect (unexpectedly) the email services got disabled".

    Thanks very much for supplying the repair steps! I'm kind of miffed that we still haven't gotten anything from Blackbaud themselves.

    Did you need to re-send all the acknowledgements and other emails that were blocked during the downtime, or were they eventually generated by the system?

    I don't think the emails were eventually generated but we didn't wait very long to determine if they would be. We just went ahead and resent.

    Thanks for the update! Nothing has popped through on our subscribed alerts account, but since most email services are currently auto-filtering our acknowledgement messages as junk, I still wanted to check, if possible. (BB and our network security team have been investigating that issue for a couple weeks now, but I don't want to worsen it with duplicates in the meantime.)

  • @Jess Munroe I have a feeling Altru did an update and got something wrong for us all. We had the same experience. All of our permissions were set off. Here's how to correct:

    1. Knowledgebase
    2. Article
    3. 116443

    Error: The general purpose process is disabled. Please enable this process prior to submitting general purpose email jobs. - when attempting to send an email receipt in Daily Sales

    When I enter a daily admission sale and I enter an email address and email receipt, I receive an error message - The general purpose process is disabled. Please enable this process prior to submitting general purpose email jobs.

    Answer:

    1. Go to the Administration tab and click Email Services in the Configuration section
    2. Select the Email Processes tab
    3. In the Email Processing Jobs section, click the drop-down next to General Purpose Email Poll
    4. Click Enable

    Note: You will need either the Email Services Administrator or Email Services User system role to be able to make this change.
