Donor Portal- Updating recurring gifts

Is anyone else having issues with donors trying to update their bank/card information for their recurring gifts through the portal and it not updating? We've had several now. And since we can't see into their account through the portal, I don't know how to help them.

@Cathi Christopher - I'm the product manager for RENXT Portal and we have heard this a couple of times. My assumption is that your donor used the “Payment Methods” section in Portal to update their credit card. Right now, when you add a card there, it can be used for NEW donations made from portal only. We're working on a feature that will allow donors to opt to use these payment methods for future Recurring Gift payments too. This will only be an option when the donor has an active Automated Recurring Gift. We did make a small update to the Add Payment Method modal to clarify that it will apply to new gifts, but I'll look into making this more obvious in the UI since I've heard this from 2+ customers now.

I'll also add that when your donor has active Automated Recurring Gifts and access to Portal, when/if they update their payment method for a specific gift, it will create an Amendment on that gift, so you should have visibility into that. When we release the feature to allow saved Payment Methods to be used for automated Recurring Gifts, those changes will create amendments as well.

@Cathi Christopher I just wanted to make sure you saw that we've updated the Saved Payment functionality in Portal. Now, when a donor goes to Add or Edit a Saved Payment Method, they also have the ability to Apply that payment method to Active recurring gifts. I hope you like this change - please let me know if you have any questions!
