ACH Donations via BBMS

Hello.

Our donation forms are currently powered by BBMS/Database View as NXT donation forms don't allow for memberships.

Knowledgebase indicates the best way to do this is with an EFT module. We've tried ACH donations without an EFT module and it failed spectacularly. So, how much is the EFT module?

Also, if there's some way to process ach/eft donations via batch and web view (the way I do for recurring donations), let me know.

@Jane Van Ingen Can you be a bit more specific. I find that ACH and EFT can cover a range of actual payment processes.
Are you wanting to charge credit cards? Are you referring to processing direct debits? Are you looking for a way to enter gifts that you receive notice from your bank that have been deposited electronically into your account?

We do process these using db view batch. (Web view does not have some fields we need). EFT module is needed to charge credit cards. Your bank may have a separate platform to run direct debits. Have been at org who used EFT module for that and one that does not.

@JoAnn Strommen Thanks. I've since discovered we do indeed have the EFT module, but we've not been successful processing ACH/direct debit donations. If you could tell me how you used the EFT module, I'd be much obliged.

@Jane Van Ingen At current org EFT is used for credit cards.

Previous org we also used to generate file for bank for direct debits. I would create batch using Tools - and then create transmission files - Direct debit. I do remember accounting staff had to make some small tweak to file before she sent it to bank. Unfortunately I don't know what it was.

Hopefully you will have a response from someone who is currently using module with direct debits.

I looked at my case notes from the last time we tried to do this. When creating the direct debit file, you can select merchant account and bbms, and blackbaud communicates with the bank directly. Has anyone used the EFT module and had success with sending the file directly to the merchant account?
