how to credit fundraisers on gifts

Hi, we want to start using the ‘canvassers credited’ option on RE NXT to be able to report on fundraisers' involvement and effort for each gift. I was wondering if someone can share any best practice, or suggestions, on how to best evaluate the percentage each fundraisers should be credited for, when they work in tandem? Do you follow specific guidelines to evaluate the percentage? Are the fundraisers themselves that provide an estimate of their effort in temr of gift percentage? Any insights you could share would be greatly appreciated since we are just starting using this tool to evaluate team performance. Our main goal is to promote collaboration among fundraisers, while at the same time being fair in how we assign credit to fundraisers.

@Anna Silvestri We give full credit to all. We haven't been driven this way in the past and it is hard to tell what is the “thing” that really inspires the donor. Perhaps one person did all the leg work but it was the last person involved that really got the donation or vice versa.

As always I'm interested in what others do.

@Anna Silvestri I've never been in an organization that portioned out credit - everyone gets 100% and it seems to work just fine. Trying to apply percentages feels like something that may end up being far too time-consuming and detracting from other work.

The only caveat to this is that you need to be careful of people adding up gift amounts and thinking it represents the total raised. There will obviously be duplicated gifts in these reports, but that is OK because they serve a different purpose than any financial reports.
