Hi all, we added this tool this year and are wondering how others are recording gifts, particularly stock gifts... Anyone have some best practices I could borrow?

So far it is a little confusing--we still have our brokerage account, and some donors are sort of doing both? Notifying through FW but making their gift the ‘old’ way. And there is some back & forth for donors who either don't provide their name or don't tell what kind of stock they are giving (making it harder for FW to match the gifts to us). It's a brand-new process for us and our donors, though, so I feel like we need to get a little more experience with the tool before we decide if we like it….

@Nicole Holt Is FW supposed to accept the stock gifts like a brokerage firm, liquidating and sending you the proceeds?

@Dan Snyder Yes, they accept, liquidate, and disburse through a donor advised fund
