Locking down Email to community groups from Messages

We have many community groups set up and have set up leaders of the groups to limit the comunications open to the group ios users only. Turns out parent or members of the group can asccess emailing the whole group though messgaes by entering the name of the group in the to: line. Here is the direction support offered:

Answer:

Inbox Messaging is managed under Core > Settings > Inbox Settings.
Messaging is separated into 3 options:

  • Messaging: By turning off Messaging you will disable the entire Inbox, including Bulk Messaging
  • Bulk Messaging: You can leave messaging enabled and disable only Bulk Messaging. This will keep users from being able to message groups in bulk to their inboxes. Turning off Bulk Messaging alone will have no effect on "Messaging" or "Bulk Email". (NOTE: Bulk Messaging cannot be enabled if "Messaging" is turned off.)
  • Bulk Email: This feature allows users to populate a list of the email addresses of group members in bulk and gives the option to change the punctuation used to separate the email addresses to accommodate a variety of email apps/programs. Bulk email can still be used if Bulk Messaging is disabled.

The issue is what are the ramifications of doing this? I want my staff the leaders of the groups to be able to email through the groups and if possible through their messaging but not members. We have group access locked down for community group managers/owners only. The direction i the article is vague at best in this area.
