Table clean up greyed out in NXT

I get it - they moved Table Cleanup to NXT but why is "Clean up" greyed out for me in both NXT and Database view??? And yes, I am the Admin.

    Which table are you on, not sure if some table cannot use “clean up”.

    Also try “reloading” the page, sometime the page didn't fully load yet

    Thanks Alex,

    Yes, it's greyed out and can't be clicked - I've reloaded and refreshed but Clean up is still grayed out.

    I was hoping for something obvious but may have to reach out to support…

    @roger berg Table clean up is still available in Database View. You may also want to check that you are not only Organization Admin, but Environment Admin as well. But as Alex stated, not all tables can be “clean-up”.

    @Joe Moretti Thanks Joe-

    yes, I'm both Org and Environment admin - but it might be more than what I thought.

    Not all tables are greyed out in Database and NXT - but Address City is now. BUT - it wasn't always. I created the entries in the City table so that users would be forced to choose from the drop down rather than incorrectly spelling a city name. I wonder if this table has changed to one that can't be edited - if so, that's most unfortunate since it wipes out quite a bit of cleanup that I've done over the years and already some mistakes have crept in - which is why I was going in to clean up in the first place.

    @roger berg I wonder if this is due to Address City not always being a table-based field (since it could also be set as a text field and that was the BB default).

    Maybe - but if so, they changed it. You can configure some fields (including address) as “Lookup” which is how mine has been set for years.

    In the past I've been able to clean up this particular table but now the Table Cleanup is grayed out for Address City. It seems odd that I can set it for lookup but I can no longer clean up the table.

    I'm not sure what “lookup” actually do in the database backend, however, the table cleanup functionalities is meant to be used for codetable configuration. So if you are not able to see “Address City” in the Config > Table section, then it won't be up for “clean up”. Not sure if at some previous point in time that this is allowed or not, but you will have to check with BB support

    @Alex Wong

    Hi Alex- Lookup means a field has a set of drop down values to choose from for data entry - in this case, City names. If you have permission and enter a city that is not in the drop down you get a prompt asking if you want to add that to the table. This helps prevent typos from making it into city names.

    In the past, I was able to clean up this table just like many of the other tables. Now, for the Address City table, the Table Cleanup button is grayed out.

    Wish me luck with support…

    @roger berg Agree - it is very odd. I just wonder if BB is treating the field differently in webview since it is not always a Lookup field.
