Household Re-alignment Project

Hello all,

I am begging my endeavor into realigning the households of my students and parents. Mainly this is to be able to easily pull a flat file of families, but it would also aid in the production of reference documents and files for use by other departments.

I have been through chat support who have been trying to make the

Contact card refresh → Household

This import contains “external_household_id” which i have been able to test is not a grouping variable for the system

Currently my working hypothesis from chat support that the same addresses in the

Contact Card Refresh → Address and Salutations

would group the individuals into a household. I have done this in a test upload with no luck even though both people have the same full address and address type (copy and pasted between rows to make sure)

Curious if anybody had any insight into realigning my people into households.

@John Bozek Are the addresses shared even though they are identical? An address can be marked as a household even if it's not shared. If you have two identical addresses, but they aren't shared, then they will be two different households. You may need to delete the duplicate and share the remaining one to make them the same household. Otherwise, you'd have two different households that happen to have the same address.

@Bryna Gleich unfortunately they were not shared as part of previous workflows, I am trying to correct this
