Const First Gift in Dasboard

Hello Community;

Can someone please guide me how to create a dashboard showing constituent first gift of either pledge, RG or OTG within a calendar year?

If not, my first choice for this would be to use a Constituent List in webview with a Filter on the First Gift. That would be dynamic (you could set it for this month, this quarter, etc.). I find that simpler than a dashboard and it feels more functional for me.
