How to include information about a gift, without recording in our gift record?

We have a special scenario where we would like to track gift information to a related organization (but not ours finance-wise). How can this be achieved? Appreciate your suggestions. Thanks!

@Molly Glowacki - You could do this a number of ways. It really depends on how you plan to use the information in reports, or exporting it to use it outside of the system. Top of mind, these are what I can think of - curious what others will say.

• Opportunities/Proposals
• Prospect > Gifts to Other Organizations

@Molly Glowacki I'll echo @Austen Brown and say that determining how you will use the data is key, but my preference would be the Prospect - Gifts to other organizations (if you have that module).

Alternatively, if you do not use the Gift Type of Other (not the Gift Pay Method - the Type), you could use that along with a Fund/Appeal/Campaign structure that you ALWAYS exclude from financial reports.
