Assignment default dates

@Michael Morrissette one of my teachers noticed an issue in creating new assignments from the calendar view- despite clicking on the date they want an assignment to be published, e.g. January 5th, the publish and due dates are defaulting to the current date, e.g. December 12th. I contacted support and they are looking into it, but I thought you may have some insight into what's happening. I know of at least one other school that is experiencing the same issue. I appreciate your help!

Yes! This is something that we'll be addressing in an upcoming body of work. Specifically there are three things we'll be implementing at the same time.

The first of which is the situation you're describing where the Assignment assigned/due date isn't adhering to the date selected. That will be updated to add the dates based on the date selected in the calendar.

The second issue has to do with adding an assignment from the class page. Right now, it's not auto-selecting the section based on the class page, like it does when adding an assignment from the list view. That will be updated to look at the class page and automatically mark the given section as a publish default. If teachers add from the calendar view of the assignment center, however, they will still need to select which class to publish to.

The third issue has to do with ‘Save and add another’, currently clicking that button does not repopulate a blank assignment builder as expected from the calendar view. This will also be fixed to function as it does in the List view.

I can't give specific timelines currently, but it is something the team will be working on in the very near future.
