Canned pledge report?
Hi there,
I was wondering if there's already a pledge report somewhere in the web view of NXT that will show me all pledges due in the coming month.
Also, looking for a pledge report that will show me overdue pledges of all-time.
Thanks!

@Alex Blackwill To find pre-built pledge reports, I think you'll need to use database view.

I remember there isn't a good pledge report on webview. You could built something in Insight Designer if your org has that, but it isn't best use for invoicing or anything you want to do that's in excel “good row/column” format.We had to build our own using SKY API and data warehouse.

@Alex Blackwill Similar to @Alex Wong we use the export from a Mail Reminder file as a data source for a Power BI report and also to mail merge pledge reminders.

We still use database view “Mail” and then merge into a word doc for reminders. For reports, there's the Pledge/cash flow reports and past due reports in db view. I know lots of people want to be able to switch completely over to web view, but it just isn't there yet.0 -

The cash flow report in database view is probably best for this, but it will be in PDF so you will only be able to sort by what the report definition allows.
If you are looking for a report that will allow you to take an action, such as sending pledge reminders, you may be able to do this through Reminders in Mail. I would definitely read up on how the gift dates and run date work, because those influence the pledges that will show up. If you are trying to work on a very precise schedule with installments that are paid off fully and on time, it will work. But that's not realistic. I've used it before successfully though, and also used Constituent Export (with a lot of manual review) in another organization whose pledges were messy.

This is something we have been struggling with as well. It would seem obvious to have a canned report that shows the pledges due next month and include the date and amount due. Unfortunately, we have not found anything that includes both of those data points. We pull what we can from exports then merge.2 -
@Alex Blackwill As others said, you will need to go to db view if you don't use Power BI, have insights, etc.
You can generate a list of payments due and/or past due using the mail function. To get the ‘due’ date you will select reminder type “Create Custom data File” - this allows you to pull in so much more data. Per pledge will pull in past due and per installment is more focused - will list date installment is due. Doesn't pull past due. Click blue link to read about the differences.
Just export the list.

These reports can provide an overview of pledges due in the coming month or display a list of overdue pledges across all time.

@Susan ShebarFioribello I think that the Reminders in Mail or some of the Pledge Reports (all found in database view) can accomplish these tasks (or at least get closer to what you are looking for). That said, there is definitely much more to be desired when it comes to pledge reporting in both the webview and the database view. I'm hopeful that we will start to see those options expand in webview very soon.

@Alex Blackwill when I was at my prior org I built a dashboard (Fundraising - Reporting) based on the specific campaign. Within that there are a few different analytics that do not require the added Insight Designer to pull in pledges.
You could also build a Gift List, I believe it is, and pull a tag of overdue pledge. If I could access my old list I could be more specific but unfortunately I cannot.
Likely the most thorough solution is, as many have already said here, to utilize the database view. Web view does have some options, though, which may work if you're just needing something general to help someone who does not have access to database view. Good luck!

Does anybody know if this is available in NXT or do we still need the database view?

@David Clisham Still database view for pledge reports and reminders…subject to change with future releases, of course.

@Dan Snyder
I don't use export from mail reminder as it requires human manually making some “selection” (like run date) for a report to be staticly set for due amount on that run date. Instead I use Gift v2 get installments and get payments and power bi reports that's based on that is more flexible.Something that is harder to do now b/c you have to get installment and payment per pledge, instead of a list of all installments and payments for all pledge. So a data warehouse is almost a must with custom power bi pledge report. I am hopeful that @Anthony Gallo will one day give us the “list” endpoint for installment/payments.

@Miki Martin
Gift List does have the filter for “overdue pledges” however, it doesn't have column for amount overdue. So it makes this option not very useful for invoicing2 -
@David Clisham - Check out the Product Update Briefings in early-November, these are the best source of information for what's headed to web view and following what timeline.

The Database view is fine but the reporting is garbage if you try to download into a manipulative format.

@David Clisham
there is no better default report/dashboard that RE offers, db view or web view.The only real way to create comprehensive pledge reporting (i.e. aging report, overdue report, coming due report, payment expectency, etc) is to get the underlying data for all pledge's installment, payment, writeoff.
There is a few (very few) way you can get the data, the best way is through using SKY API gift v2 endpoints. this is the route i took, maybe there are ways that I'm not aware of that others may shine light on.

@David Clisham Agree, but until we get a new option in webview, that's my go to for pledge reporting.

@Alex Blackwill We havne't found a perfect solution, but we use the Cash Flow Report in RE/dB view to get a good overview.
We also use actions that are manually set up when the pledge comes in to remind us that a pledge payment is due (based on payment schedule) and we keep a master spreadsheet, just in case.
