Contract conditional due dates

Howdy - the release notes for today say that we are supposed to have conditional due dates available on contracts, but I don't see them anywhere. Am I missing something? Is this going to be a release in waves?

I'm guessing the release notes were before this update - see Enrollment Management section:

A previous version of this notification referred to unreleased feature updates for Blackbaud Enrollment management. These changes are forthcoming and will be announced again upon their pending release.

  • @Daniel Wallach Looks that way. Ah well, guess I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up for the official Red Ryder carbine action 200-shot range model air rifle after all.

  • @Brian LeBlanc Probably for the best - you'd shoot your eye out.

I was just about to go take a look at the conditional due dates, so thanks for the heads up! That will save me a good 15-30 minutes of puzzlement.

@Brian LeBlanc apologies for the confusion on this one! We will officially be releasing this functionality on Tuesday, so stay tuned for that release!

    Thanks,

  • @Kelsey Huijgen Woohoo! It's there now!!! Of course, now I have questions. :)

    (1) When counting days after generated, does today count as day 1 or day 0? In other words, if I generate a contract on Monday and say it's due 7 days after generating, is the due date the following Sunday at 11:59 pm or the following Monday at 11:59 pm?

    (2) I read that once selected, the option for either a specific date or a days-after-generating can't be changed, but can we still change the number of days if we need to? (Our first round of contracts has a longer runway because we send so many of them that we normally have a deadline of 9-10 days out just to give us time to handle the volume associated with them, then we revert to a shorter window after that.)

Thank you Kelsey - this is an enormous game changer for us!!!

    Hey @Brian LeBlanc see below…

    (1) When counting days after generated, does today count as day 1 or day 0? In other words, if I generate a contract on Monday and say it's due 7 days after generating, is the due date the following Sunday at 11:59 pm or the following Monday at 11:59 pm? If you generate a contract on Monday, the due date will be the following Monday.

    (2) I read that once selected, the option for either a specific date or a days-after-generating can't be changed, but can we still change the number of days if we need to? (Our first round of contracts has a longer runway because we send so many of them that we normally have a deadline of 9-10 days out just to give us time to handle the volume associated with them, then we revert to a shorter window after that.) Yes, you can adjust the number of days in the contract settings from let's say 7 to 2 days. If you adjust the number of days from 7 to 2 and you re-generate the contract for a student, it will adjust the due date as well.

  • @Bryan Lorenzo I want to make sure I understand the process. 1) can we use a static date for the first round of contracts? Then switch to conditional when we are in the rolling admission time frame? 2) let's say we are in rolling and I generate a contract, I put in the # of days or conditional date, will it only apply to the newest generated or any outstanding contracts?

No, that won't work. You can't switch from Specific Date to Days after generated once the contracts are generated.

  • @Bryan Lorenzo good to know, thanks!

  • @Bryan Lorenzo Wouldn't this be a dandy feature … to be able to switch?
