Pledge Installment Balance

I am trying to build a process for creating monthly pledge reminders and am not able to find a field to export for the installment balance. This is important so I can include how much is due for each installment upcoming or past due. Does anyone have a process they use for pledge reminders? Thanks in advance for your help!

@Patty Lewis I don't think you will be able to have a separate amount for past due and current due using the reminders as programmed. Are you using Mail > Reminders in db view? I've used this process for years.

If so, you can get a lot more fields by selecting Reminder type; Create custom data file. Select Per pledge. It will pull past due and current due (based on run date) as one field.

Installment option just pulls amounts due in date range. Could use creatively to possibly have past due installment and current due - may pull two lines to export. (Link says it will print two but that was when we could print directly from RE.)

Reporting support for pledge, installment, payment, and write off is lackluster in RE, both database view and webview.

Not sure what environment you are in, if hosted by Blackbaud or not, here's 2 method that can give exactly what you want, but with difficult and requires certain expertise:

• If you are self/3rd party hosted, then you should be able to get access to the RE database table directly, which means you can run SQL against the tables that store all the information: gift, installment, installmentpayment, etc. If you can do this, I can provide some help with the SQL that will give you exactly what you want.
• if you are hosted by Blackbaud and is on RE NXT, you can use SKY API to obtain all the same information regarding installment, payment, and writeoff, though “harder” b/c you can only get the information ONE pledge at a time. Once you got all the details, then the rest is not hard, where you can either create report using Power BI, direct SQL execution, Excel formula, etc.

As you can see, both route requires heavy technical skill set.

I would try to use the Reminders in Mail as @JoAnn Strommen recommends. That's been the most straightforward option in my experience.

@Patty Lewis I use Reminders in Mail to export a file that is used with a mail merge document (attached).
