Report Builder - adding a tribute name to dashboard

Hi,

We receive a lot of honor/memorial donations, and in my current donor dashboard I want to have the name of the tribute and the gift reference be displayed. I looked through the insights and am unable to find what I am looking for. Is this even an option? Currently I have the Gift Date, Donor Name, Donor Address, Gift Type, Campaign, Fund Appeal, Package and Gift amount.

  • @Lauren Fardella hello! I'm new to the forum and I'm hoping you get a better answer. But, the only way we have been able to do this is to include the Honor/Memorial name in the Reference field of the gift. I am still doing everything manually as we do not have an integrated software to automatically compose acknowledgement letters. Hope this helps.

  • @Aimee McDonald I am not even seeing where I can put the refrence line in my report.

  • @Lauren Fardella For us, we code the gift as a memorial/honor. We also edit the donor in our system to notate they are the recipient of an honor or memorial gift. I only utilize database for the most part. I find NXT does not provide enough detail.

    This is our query:

@Lauren Fardella are you trying to build this in webview or in database view?

Tribute name is not a field available in webview yet. If you are using database view (which does have a dashboard feature), and have been correctly connecting gifts to tribute records, the field will be available in Query output.

I just realized you said you were using Insights, which probably does further complicate things.

But you can create a list in webview and display the “comments” field, which I'm pretty is the same as the reference field in a gift record.

  • @Lauren Fardella You could create a query in database view. My criteria is Tribute type is one of … I select all of the types we use, and gift date is this calendar year. In the output tab include field you need plus Honor/Memorial name. This is found in the Tributes dropdown.
