Soft Credit Donors in Report Builder?

I'm attempting to create a dashboard in NXT Report Builder (out of the box, no Insight Designer), and I want to see a total # of donors, including hard and soft credit recognition.

In the Properties for Donors, I have Total # Donors and a filter for Gift Recognition Credit: Donor credit, Soft credit - both selected. In the report, it shows a # of donors, but when I click into it, it takes me to a pop-up list that has the same # of donors but is missing all of the donors who received soft credit.

Has anyone ran into this issue with NXT Report Builder and how do you resolve this to include Soft Credit Donors?

    Hi Aimee,

In NXT, the Gift Recognition Credit field is connected to P2P fundraising through Just Giving and not an indication of traditional Soft Credit/Hard Credit.

Here's how you can get what you're looking for:

Create your donation report, and include the 'Gifts Received' insight. When you're reviewing the report, click on the total number of gifts received and you will see the sidebar popup with the list of gifts. At the top of the sidebar, click ‘create list’. From this list, click on ‘Columns’ to choose which columns to view in the list. Select the ‘Soft Credit’ option under ‘Gift Basics’ and click ‘Apply Changes’. Your list will now include a sortable column with any soft credits attached to your gifts.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Heather,

Thank you, I did not realize that Gift Recognition Credit was not traditional Soft Credit and meant I needed to have JustGiving.

Thank you for the workaround. Sounds like I'm unable to get the number in the tile of a dashboard as I had hoped, which was confirmed by Blackbaud Support. Due to our needs of just having a dashboard display the total count (among other dashboard issues), we'll likely need to stick to other reporting solutions for now.

    Your help is appreciated!

Not sure what you have plan for other reporting solution, but I do agree the report on NXT does not “bend” to each org's need for reporting. (this is to put it nicely for Blackbaud but I'm sure many feel it is Blackbaud's responsibility to ensure flexibility).

Depending on your org commitment to use Blackbaud product and have everything done/seen in RE NXT, you might want to consider yourselves, or someone more technical (just slightly), or use a partner to build the specific reporting need directly into RE NXT via SKY API, SKY Add-ins, etc.

This is what I do for my org and they are loving it.
