Donor category table added in NXT not showing up in DBV

I added a new donor category table in web view and expected to see it as a choice in the Donor Category Report in database view but it is not showing up. Any ideas? I can edit an existing table and those changes show up, however, a new table does not.

@Marie Carey - Welcome to BB Community forums! Did you follow these steps when creating new entries? The KB Article linked is a tad out dated, go to Web View instead of DBV > Config:

Donor category tables are special table. You cannot create new. You can only edit the existing ones

Apology.. my mistake. I wasn't aware you can create the special donor category table on web view now. (Was it always possible from DB view?)

Where are you looking to find the new donor category table in db view? BB took away the table view in config of database view recently. You can go to the canned report and select donor category report and should see the new one under format tab I think

@Alex Wong Yes, that is exactly where I am looking for it - in the canned Donor Category Report (DB view) on the Format tab under Detail there is a drop down for “Use donor category table”. I am wondering how to get a new donor category table set up in web view to show up here in database view.

@Alex Wong so what you are saying we cannot create a new table for donor category report, this is really strange. I have created a new table and I see this table when I created a gift attribute and selected data type for the new attribute as Table, I could see the new table that I created in Webview but when I go to run the donor category report that table is not available. How can I get the new table under donor category report?

Unless there is a donor cateogry report on webview that uses the webview created donor category table, then I think it is a bug that the donor category table created in webview cannot be selected from the canned report on database view.

@Erik Leaver @Heather McLean is this something you can find out from internal resources?

@Alex Wong I called customer services and they also suggested it could be a glitch and it may take few weeks to fix this issue. I can see the table created in webview when I try to create a new gift attribute in database, the newly created table is there in the drop down but it is not seen in the donor category report.

adding a gift attribute and then selecting a new table as data type creates a “normal” table.

Donor Category is a special table that does not get created this way.
