Relationship Mapping Tools

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to find vendors who offer relationship mapping tools compatible to RE/NXT but most I've met with are native to only Salesforce. I was wondering if any of you can lead me to tools within this space that have RE compatibility and if you're currently using the tool, how has the quality, accuracy and what has been the impact its had on fundraising for your organization? Hi, can you elaborate on what you are trying to achieve here?

When I hear Relationship Mapping, I think of Database Table relationship/schema documentation. So if you are talking about this, then you can check RE Database Schema docuemtnation help file, which can be found in a local install of RE

If you are trying to get an Entity Relationship Diagram for the RE database tables, I think you can install a local copy of sample RE database, and then use SQL Management Studio to connect to it and create the diagram.

Hi Alex,

We're trying to achieve a visual diagram of who our donors/Board are related to within our database and to what degree is that relationship? Within this would be contact information and basic wealth information of that relationship so I'm not sure if you're famliar with LexisNexis relationship mapping or what I'm seeing from LinkedIn Sales Navigator, but something like that where we can visually diagram donor relationships and understand base level details about that relationship.

i"m not familiar with the tool you are talking about. However, given the flexibility of RE NXT as it can be config and store data however an org wishes to, I would venture to say such tool doesn't exists that will provide you the insight specific to your org's way of recording data.

You can check out Blackbaud Marketplace and see if there is an app that does this and investigate it.

OR

if important enough where resource (time and/or money) can be spend, then this can be custom built into your RE NXT webview either by you, your team, or Blackbaud partner.

More clarification might be helpful. Are you looking for a tool that maps the relationships you already have set up in RE, or more of a prospecting tool?

If the former, Christine's suggestion for RedArc is a good one. Database view also has a native Relationship Tree map on a constituent record, which then allows you to filter different relationship types and color code them:

If the latter, might you be looking for a product that allows you to search a name from your database and see names of people and organizations to whom they are connected? if that is the case, I have heard about RelSci the most, but I'm sure there are other options.
