Assigned Fundraiser WebView tile missing fundraiser from database view

Assigned fundraiser missing from WebView tile because they are Inactive as they are an old fundraiser we no longer work with. The only way around this is to remove Inactive from the old fundraiser. When we move to WebView do we lose this historical data. I got this response from support, “I agree that it would make sense to be able to see those historic fundraisers even if they are not inactive, I would suggest the idea in the ideabank and hopefully we can see our engineers add this to a future update of RENXT to be able to view the history in NXT not just Database view.”

@Therese Morris Are you sure that the “Show Current” checkbox isn't checked? I can see historical fundraisers in NXT. Are you using the date information to show when someone was moved to another portfolio?

@Dariel Dixon The Show Current checkbox is not checked. These are people with 16 fundraisers and only 15 showing when Show Current is uncheck. Support confirmed it is because Inactive are excluded.

@Therese Morris: Just so we are clear, you marked the former fundraiser's constituent record as inactive? Not just removed them as solicitors? If you are marking the constituent record as inactive, I think the functionality is working as expected.

Marking constituents as inactive takes them out of a lot of things. AFAIK, it's always been like that.

@Dariel Dixon Yes we have about 20 old fundraiser's who are marked Inactive by our rules and they are not showing in the Assigned Fundraiser tile in WebView. This may be the funtionality of Inactive, but Support could not tell me that the historical record would come over to WebView even if Inactive. They told me to add an Idea.

@Therese Morris I know there is a difference in function between solicitor being marked as ‘inactive’ and just unchecking the ‘is a solicitor’ box on Bio 1. I remember talking with support about this years ago (pre web view) and trying to decide what option was best for our purposes.

You could test that and see if it gives you the list your are looking for. I don't recall the differences between the two options.

@Therese Morris This is a tough one. First off, congrats just for having rules around “Inactive”. It's such a clunky feature but a lot of organizations have never defined it. I generally don't inactivate old fundraisers because of issues such as this.

But, you marked them inactive for a reason. I think you have to determine if this issue is worth restructuring your rules around inactivity for former fundraisers, or finding a workaround.

I always recommend using start dates and end dates on fundraiser assignments, though I think the end date is what makes it inactive.

The other thing I recommend, because it can help with webview and with exporting in database view, is to use fundraiser types that are former. For instance, if you have “Relationship manager” as a fundraiser type, you would also have “Relationship manager - former”. In webview this would allow you to uncheck the “show current” box and filter by the various fundraiser types.

@Karen Diener We use “Former” for fundraiser relationships and Date From and Date To. Several former fundraiser constituent records have been marked as Inactive. Testing based on “Is a solicitor”, “Solicitor is Inactive”, “Solicitor constituent record is Inactive” found the only combination was to remove Inactive from the constituent record for all former fundraiser's to show up.

My concern beside them not displaying in the donor's NXT record, is that these will not come over to NXT/Webview after they shut off database view.

@Therese Morris: I wouldn't worry about this at all. Since there's no date for this, and since so many things will change between now and then, I think you might want to reevaluate at that time.
