Login with Chrome Issue?

Is anyone else experiencing some issues with Chrome trying to login to Blackbaud products? Whether it be the app.blackbaud.com website or myschoolapp.com domain? I have about half of my students who can't get in using Chrome - the website just sits there, and going to app.blackbaud.com gives the never ending pulsating green circle. However, going to Edge, the page loads immediately. I am experiencing the same thing on my laptop, but my desktop is fine on Chrome. On my laptop, I have cleared all the cache in Chrome, updated to the latest version, even tried uninstalling and re-installing, but to no avail. And it seems to be more on Windows 10 than 11 with the students. Anyone else experiencing troubles logging in with Chrome? I am working around by using Edge, but this is just a little annoying.

    No one has reported an issue with Chrome today- it is usually my go-to as it seems to be the most reliable with blackbaud. The status page is reporting an issue with Blackbaud ID; maybe that is affecting your users?

  • @Chris Felinski chrome is usually the good one! We have noticed problems with new parents accepting the invite and loggin in with safari and their gmail account. Instead of using their gmail, we have told them to use a separate password.

    @Chris Felinski that's bizarre. I haven't heard the Chrome/Windows issue aside from your post this morning. Is it still happening? If so, please contact Support so they can ask all the right questions to get to the bottom of it.

  • @Chris Felinski we have definitely seen this in the last few days as well! It seems to be happening for people on the latest version of Chrome. If you haven't updated the browser, everything is fine.

    @Chris Felinski - in addition to the troubleshooting steps you listed, I will have the user try to sign in from a Guest window in Chrome. That eliminates all of the browser extensions from the process, and gets a clean cache.

    If it works in a Guest window but not in the main window, disable the extensions, then turn them on in groups to identify the culprit. (For us, it's usually Grammarly that causes the problem.)

  • @Chris Felinski - I am having problems accessing any site using BBID through Chrome or FireFox on my Mac at work - but not on my HP at home. I can't even use an incognito Window to log in on the Mac. I've done a “reset” of my Chrome - and no better performance.
    So far - I'm the only one at our school with this issue.

  • We are having the same issue at our school. When a student tries to go to myschooapp, the Chrome screen says it can't load. There is an Advanced and Reload choice at the bottom of the screen. Neither one of them works.

    We saw a similar problem a few week ago - but only on campus. In our case, the firewall service had updated its filters - resulting in an accidental block.

    Do you see the problem when connecting from outside the school network?
