We have a student marked present for a day that is not on the school calendar and cannot remove this absence. Can anyone help. Please let me know what clearances we need to remove this …

@Kathy Norek maybe @Carlene Johnson can assist! Tagging her in.

@Amy Barker I'm not sure about this either, but am tagging in @Jeanne Townsend. She might know or know someone else who can give a good answer!

  • @Kathy Norek I would think an Attendance Manager could change this; if not, it may be worth a chat with support. Is this a current student? Is the day in the past, or future, or a non-class day in the current year?

  • @Kathy Norek - Is the day not on the school calendar because it is outside of a term or because it was simply a day that classes did not meet? If it is the latter, you can try to make it an active day via Academics > Scheduling > Daily schedule calendar and see if you can remove the absence. If it is because the day was between terms, you can extend the dates of a term via Core > Settings > School information > Year & terms and then see if you may remove the absence.

I have never encountered this issue before, so I am just throwing out some ideas.

    Good luck,

    Scott

I am the attendance manager and cannot change as there was no school that day! I also had the schedule manager check the date and it is not showing up as a scheduled day!

  • @Scott Chrysler

I will send this to the scheduling manager but I cannot just remove an absences - I would have to change it to something. I can't even reach it to change it because it shows up under student's name and in lists but not when I key in that date!

  • @Kathy Norek - Since the student is marked as attending, it might be a Virtual attendance entry. Try building an attendance list (either class attendance or day attendance depending how attendance is taken) and include the filter Attendance type is Virtual. If the record appears, you can delete it using the … button to the left of the record.
