Reporting Across Two Different Schools

Hi,

One of our schools (School B) is launching a pre-K course. We also have a conventional nursery school (School A). We have a few families that will have their students enrolled in School A and will also have them taking the course at School B.

Most if not all canned reporting available in MSA is designed to pull on only one school level at a time, so I don't see any reporting that will capture this particular group of School A students along with all the other students with a progression enrollment in School B. Just wanted to check here if any users have found reporting in smart lists, basic lists, or the pre-set reports where this can be accomplished (outside of Advanced Lists, I know this group can be pulled there already).

  • @Karintha Marshall I'm sorry that I don't have a good answer for you, but I am curious about “MSA”. What does that refer to?
I do know that there is a significant amount of information that is available in a “one or other” fashion-e.g. you can pull it through an Advanced List, but cannot access that field/information from a SKY list and vice versa.

Have you checked the Ideas Bank to see if anyone has suggested this improvement?

  • @Karintha Marshall In our case, the separate schools are Early Years, Lower School, Middle School and I am usually able to include multiple school levels in sky lists or basic lists. It depends a little on the type of information you're looking for, but lists generally include all students, and you have to add a school level or grade level filter if you want one.

Recently we changed the grade levels that our division directors manage so PS-2 is one division and 3-5 is another. Our school levels are still PS-K and 1-5 and I have not had any difficulty reporting on the cross school level group (PS-2) in lists. I use very few reports though, so maybe that's why I don't have much trouble viewing information for multiple school levels. I do sometimes have issues working in the system where school level filters are set for the page, but it doesn't usually inconvenience me much.

  • @Lauren Henderson I was assuming that Karintha was referring to myschoolapp which may not be the portal name for your school, but is the default name if your school didn't create their own. I often shorten that to MSA as well.
