Revoking communications for a specific constituent

I'm looking for a solution where I can simply and quickly revoke communications from a constituent without having to adjust lists in the pushpages? Best, Rich

  • @Richard Pan You should be able to open their profile in Core, go to the Settings tab, and edit their subscriptions - or remove all via the global unsubscribe there. If you don't globally unsubscribe, they will still get added to new lists, which may or may not be desired.

  • @David Gillespie Thanks but can parents go back into their profile and change the subscription, if I have changed it?

  • @Richard Pan Unfortunately, yes - I was interpreting your message as a request from a family or a colleague just to not include them anymore, not something more strict like forbidding them to receive messages. If I had someone I had to go that far with I'd likely remove their email address from the system and disable their account.

  • @David Gillespie How would you handle families where only Parent A should be sent communications, but you need Parent B to sign the contracts?

  • @Petra Hall Ah this is how we see how individual schools use all the components of the system. We use Finalsite for admissions.

Overall, it sounds like it would be easier if there were a limit on the ability of a person to subscribe (positively) to bulk email or specific lists. Like anyone can remove themselves, but it has to be allowed in your profile to add yourself back in. Sounds like a component of profile access rules, maybe a new function to request.

Would marking their email as [bad] work temporarily? And then you could uncheck when they were back in good standing? The system did it to me by accident a couple weeks ago and I stopped getting all pushpages and notifications and that's what I had to fix to start getting them again.
