RENXT online giving forms-Auto address fill

The NXT online giving form that we are using has an autofill feature for the donor's address. I have found that a lot of donors are clicking on the address that appears and moving forward with their gift. However, they are neglecting to put in an apartment number when necessary. NXT will then put this into their record as a “new” address, even though it is the same as the old address, minus their apartment number. When an apartment number is not part of their address, NXT sometimes will add a new address, with the only difference being the format of the address (North instead of N, etc.)

  • Is there a way to view the donor information and accept or reject new information while processing the gifts, similar to Net Community?
  • Can an “Address 2” box be added to the online giving form?

Obviously we want the new address information, but would like a little more control over what is happening in the background. We would also like to avoid a lot of clean up after processing online gifts.

@Sue Mathes Welcome to the BB Community forums.

Yes, I so agree that we need the option to review incoming data/matches. My understanding is that you can change to that for your settings. I don't know if it's there yet for both donations and events. I'm sure someone else can confirm that.

If you follow USPS address formatting, complete street address with apt/unit # should all be on line one. So if entered in an address 2 field it would still think it's a new address for us. We need ability to edit / have “address - including apt #” as field name, IMO>

@Sue Mathes you need to go into your settings and set up constituent review for you online gifts. Then you will have the ability to “reject” the unwanted address info.
@Juliana Lawson we were just talking about this yesterday! Tagging @Anthony Gallo ?

  • @Keith Wilson Thank you, I will try that! I had it set to “Review transactions with unmatched constituents” which was stopping it from creating new constituent records.

@Sue Mathes I just wanted to chime in here. I'm the Product Manager for Online Data Review and we're working on an enhancement that will recognize more addresses as matches. For example St. and Street would still match, as would a postal code and that same code + 4. I hope for this to release in the next couple of months and welcome your feedback as we work to improve this tool for you. thank you!

  • @Lacey Kruger Thank you. I'm still wondering about the auto-fill feature that most donors seem to be using to fill in their address. Can an “Address line 2” be added to the NXT form for an apartment number? This information is being left off of addresses by the donors.

@Sue Mathes, I asked around and there aren't currently plans to add an Address Line 2 field to forms. I did find an Idea for this in the Idea bank and suggest you vote and comment if you'd like to heighten the priority for this change. Product managers use Idea bank votes to help us define and prioritize what we implement. Meanwhile, I think using Online data review will help you preserve the original Address line 2 on the record when it's unintentionally omitted. Thanks for the discussion! Please reach out if you have additional feedback.
