How do I create an export report for our accounting office to eliminate additional data entry into their system?

Are they hoping to import the data into Banner? Any export will allow you to save as a CSV file, which is likely going to be the best option. The key is knowing which fields are required by Banner to be imported, and then making sure you can pull them in Export.

@Karen Diener, thank you. I think the file we already pull (so they can manually input) will be able to accommodate what we are looing for if we add a few categories to it. Just making sure there is no other succinct mechanism to achieve it.

I don't know Banner, but if it is like any other financial system, then there is always a debit and a credit for each gift. So you may need to take care of that, or maybe it is accounting office own responsbility

We moved to RENXT in 2022 and post our gifts to Banner Finance. We pull a standard posting .csv using postOmatic. Then the .csv is fed to a Banner job that accepts it as an Oracle external table, obtains the next Banner Finance document number, derives the RUCL (finance transaction code) for each gift, and writes the transaction to GURFEED in Banner along with the required summary row. From there it is swept into the normal finance posting cycle. Perhaps there are some Banner people who could create such a job for you?

We also have another Banner job to pull gifts that have been posted to Banner Finance for reconciliation.

@Karen Bruce I would also look at the GL Post Export file. I have used that with many clients who do not have FE as a way to provide Finance with GL numbers based on a specific date range of gifts. You can also use it to create a file of your Adjustments and Write Offs for Finance as well.

@Christine Robertson / Karen – that function will not generate an output file suitable for Banner. PostOmatic can be configured, not only for Banner, but for your specific Banner setup, rule codes, file format, etc.
