RE NXT automated Recurring Gifts in Canada

I'm hoping to speak to others that have converted their Recurring Gifts to automated… We are starting this process but due to the size of the monthly gift file we want to make sure to anticipate any potential challenges.

One question is how these gifts are administered after the conversion - specifically upgrade campaigns. Are we able to amend gifts in bulk after converting?

The other immediate question is about the gift batches - how do you get a report similar in layout to the Commit report?

There are lots more questions, so hopefully we can connect with an org or two that can provide some insight. Thanks in advance!

@F Omer - Welcome to BB Community forums! You are able to amend gifts in bulk, by utilizing the import feature in DBV to bring in gift amendments. Unfortunately there isn't a control report currently, but you can export a Batch Validation Report once the batch is approved/committed, from DBV.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

@Austen Brown, Hi, we are switching from Authorised.net to BBMS for CC processing and will be generating the donation forms from NXT. How does BBMS get the backend CC number and expiry dates from Authorised.net. Is there an agreement or we have to go back to our recurring donors for CC numbers and expiry dates?

Thanks Austen for the tips! I will check out the Batch Validation report and see if that will work for us.

Regarding importing updates in DBV, we did a little testing but sadly the Gift Amount would not update via an amendment Import - other fields updated fine however. We'll redo the test to see if we missed anything, but this was a concerning result…

I recommend reaching out to the BBMS support. I know of the process to move payment tokens from BBMS elsewhere, but am no as familiar with the process to move tokens to BBMS - I presume it'll be relatively the same. You'll likely need to reach out to Authorised.net prior to the end of contract to get payment tokens, and then work with the BBMS team to get those migrated to your new account.

There is fallback, albeit much slower, you can put through the edits/amendments directly on the recurring gift record within Web View.

@Austen Brown, thank you that is a promising reply. I will check with Authorised.net if they can provide the payment tokens to BBMS.

    Thanks
