Using Event Registration as "Inquiry Form"

Has anyone tried to use the Event Registration Form as an Inquiry Form? We were considering doing this because the information gathered on Event Registration Form can be the same as the Inquiry with the added bonus of being able to register for Open House. It makes sense in theory but would love some input.

@Carissa Goddard I will preface this with saying I do not use your particular product (I work in RE NXT) but I should think the process and all would be similar.

If you are asking people that complete the form to actually register for an open house or other event I would think that could work. I'm not certain how easily your product doublechecks what information you already have compared to what is being entered. Also, does your event form have a way of them declining attending the event or is their completion of the form automatically telling you they're attending? If they cannot decline then your attendance numbers may be inflated unless you have a process to change their RSVP when reviewing.

It may be better to stick with the inquiry form and just upload that information into your system so you have it saved and then if they want to register for future events you already have them in there and can just update their record with an event attendance. Sorry I can't be of more help!

  • @Miki Martin Thank you. We tested it a few different ways and it just wasn't functioning like we needed it to. In theory, it should work, and yes they had the option to decline an Open House. It would be nice if the event form could be linked in the inquiry so it's more of a one-stop shop.
