New Assignment Center support materials to share with students and parents

Hello all.

Perhaps I missed it, but are there any support materials, videos, etc., that are designed to share with parents and students to let them know about the features in the new Assignment Center? All of the materials that I've seen are either for Admins or teachers. This video, for example, mentions the old Assignment Center still being available as an option, so that's a little awkward to send to parents and students. Was hoping that there were some current videos, templates for communications, tailored just for parents and students, etc. Would be so helpful!

For this release, we didn't make any specific materials that would student or parent facing when it comes to the new assignment center. With that said, I can certainly see how it would be helpful, and I can take that feedback to the team to discuss what those kinds of materials might look like for our next big portal release.

When it comes to the Assignment submission screen, however, there are some baked-in videos students can watch that explain that new experience. If a student opens an assignment, and clicks one of the ‘!’ icons on the page, a modal will populate with a short video outlining that particular functional area. This is a potential concept we may apply to more pages in the future, so let us know how you feel about it!

I was looking for exactly the same thing. Teachers are screaming about it. So, I dug up that video you referenced, and edited it in Camtasia only to have the student part. It's just under 11 minutes. I had to have something with visuals.

@Kim Ashcraft Oh my goodness, thanks for sharing this!! How did you download the video in order to edit it? I was thinking I would do the same thing, but couldn't get it downloaded.

The icon is somewhat obscure for this, though. Maybe a Help icon or a life preserver?
