Former Gift Officer Assignments & Proposals/Opportunities

Hello everyone!
I hope all is well. Seeking advise.
Gift officer leaves organization. Solicitor assignments are now switched to “former” with the “date to”.
The former gift officer has outstanding proposals. Leadership wants to review and reassign the former gift officer’s solicitor assignments and the proposals the former gift officer was working on.
1. Should the former gift officer’s proposals be marked as “cancelled/closed” on the proposal/opportunity status?
2. Should the proposal/opportunity be marked as “inactive”?
3. Should the newly assigned gift officer create their own proposal?
I’ve created a list of the former gift officer’s assignments in RE NXT for leadership and the prospect researcher to review. Leadership wants to see the former gift officer’s work in Work Center, but the former gift officer has been removed as an option to review in Work Center dropdown.
I have a feeling that leadership will want me to “override” the former solicitor, therefore erasing/removing/shifting the original proposal to the new gift officer. Any recommendations are welcomed! Thanks in advance.
