Split Gift Export (Reporting) Through NXT

Hello, Everyone.

I am starting to move from Export (DB) to Dashboard/Lists (NXT) to pull reports. Unfortunately, I found out that even though I am able to present split amounts in Dashboard (using Gift Received), I can't export the true amount as the exported file includes the whole total amount (instead of the specified funded split amount). It doesn't event give you a column of how the amounts are split (to my knowledge), unlike the Fund Description (which is separated by a comma).

Any suggestions? I have read some threads that it's best to move away from splitting gifts. We do these when we accept registration fees, but also have a donation aspect to it (in OLX).

Thank you for your inputs, everyone.

  • @Bernard Nemis For now, I would stick with database view for all reports that include split gifts.

That said, to split or not to split is a somewhat controversial question in this industry. If it is working for you, then you don't need to change it based on someone else's opinion (or database).

@Bernard Nemis As Christine said, STICK WITH DATABASE. Do most of your work in RE DATABASE, RE NXT is not a fully functional product. RE NXT, over 10 years in the making. GOOD GRIEF.

Thank you, Joe. NXT has come a long way. Long enough for me to consider moving some of my workflows from DB to NXT. As I continue to do so, I find some cases like the split gifts though that bounce me back to DB.

Thank you, Christine. I think I can recommend my team to use the Dashboard but not pull any list from NXT, at least not until we decide to change the split gift process.
