Event Registration Advanced List (attended)

Hi there. I am trying to pull an advanced list showing the candidates who attended our Open House. I marked the candidates as attended, however, when I try to preview the list it is showing their status as “false” (i.e. not attended).

  • @Kellie Teraoka I noticed the same issue after our first open house in the beginning of September. After opening a support case and not receiving any kind of answer or resolution, I escalated the case in the beginning of October and was eventually told that the advanced lists were functioning as expected and that the ticket would be closed. After attempting to escalate the case further/reach out to the product team directly, I have heard nothing back.

    The only way to indicate attendance at an event and have it displayed correctly on the advanced list is to manually go to each record, add the event, and then mark them as registered and/or attended (even though the event system automatically adds the registration and attendance data to the records separately - you actually have to purposefully create a duplicate event). There is clearly a fundamental issue with how the new event registration system is passing the attendance data to the candidate records. You can see that registration data is being displayed correctly, but whether you mark the candidate as attended within the new event interface or by going to their record and marking as attended, that True value is not returned when the list is run.

    What this means is that it's literally not possible to do any kind of analysis on event attendance or use that data in any of our existing analytics systems without manually exporting a list of registrants and doing all the attendance tracking and analytics outside of the system. It's crazy to me that this hasn't been addressed yet.

  • @Troy Burki Thanks for sharing your experience Troy. I reached out to support and they said they will get back to me. I'm glad that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. I hope Blackbaud is eventually able to find a fix for this.
