Online Giving Form: Address Changing on Constituent Records

Let me know if anyone else has experienced this issue!

I noticed that addresses were getting duplicated, but with a few slight differences. For example, Northwest, Southeast, etc, is spelled out, but was NW and SE on the previous address record. The more concerning change is that some of the new addresses are missing a unit/apt/suite number.

I realized that when people were filling one of our online forms, the address line automatically looks up the address and completes it but does not include at unit/suite/apt number. This is an issue because some people will forget to add it, but if they do remember, they could write it a number of different ways and it may not match their current record in RE. For example, they could write APT, Apt, apt, Apartment, etc.

Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any workarounds to this?

@Hayden Wheeler Agh! and double Agh! Can totally related to people not putting apt #/full address. We have one vendor we work with that doesn't even have a spot for that on the donor info page.

For RE NXT, they talked about an option to review and approve each gift/registration as they come in. That is the only workaround that I'm aware of. Will be take more time but hopefully result in more accurate data - will definitely be choosing that option as we move more into using NXT for this.

@Hayden Wheeler have you looked into using Online Data Review for this issue? It's designed to give you greater control over constituent matching and updates on gifts coming in from online donation forms: Online Data Review
