Fulfilling pledge with end dated recurring gift

Hi all. Since Blackbaud cannot seem to find a way to properly add a "pledge" option to its NXT web giving forms, the ONLY “automatic” way to fulfill pledges via NXT giving form is to set up an end dated recurring gift. In general this works, BUT if you have a gift pledge record that exists PRIOR to the recurring gift getting established, you then would need to find a way to “count down” the pledge for your reporting to work correctly. i.e. when you have a $1,000 pledge it will show on your reports as $1,000 committed, and if they make $1,000 worth of recurring gifts, you are essentially double counting.

Is there an easy way to count down this pledge, I know you can't apply a recurring gift payment as a pledge payment, you can do a gift adjustment for each recurring gift payment as they come in (which could be a LOT of work). Any other ideas or thoughts?

What would be 1000X easier, would be for BB to figure this out and add a pledge option to donation forms. I can't figure out why this is not a priority.

@Patrick Flynn There is no good way to apply a recurring gift towards a pledge. I hope we will see changes on this front soon, but fundamentally, this has been an issue for a long time.

I think I remember BBcon spoke about having pledge payment option that is being worked on.

@Alex Wong I think that you will be able to work with pledge payments more in webview, but I don't think you'll be able to apply a recurring gift payment to a pledge. That's long been an annoyance when donors set up a recurring gift and expect it to fulfill their pledge.

I know what you mean, but I was not referring to the normal “Recurring Gift” and “Recurring Gift Pay-cash”, but rather a feature to allow for donor to elect to pay for their pledge recurringly (it will still be a Pay-cash as it applies to the pledge). I don't remember for sure now, but I thinkt hey did mentioned in PUB
