Notify a fundraiser when one of their prospect donates.

Hey all, Happy Monday! My team works primarily in db view but our fundraisers work primarily in web view. Right now we have some fundraisers who want to be notifed when their prospects donate so an annotation is added to the record. All the annotation pop ups slow us down when we process gifts, so I'm wondering, isn't there a way to run a list of prospects a prospect manager/fundraiser has and if/when one of their prospect donates, it shows up in their web view work center? Would that be a workflow? Thanks!

there is no need to do annotation.

on webview, work center has a tab for gift, which will show gift made by donor that they are fundraiser for.

@Rose Dixon This is not what annotations are used for. @Alex Wong is right. That's the purpose of the work center. Perhaps showing them how to better use their work center.

My organization uses power automate to send a list of all gifts entered the previous day. Maybe if they had a way to see those gifts, that would help but an annotation is not the way.

  • @Dariel Dixon We have WAY too many annotations!

  • @Alex Wong I don't use the web view really at all. But I now see it's right there! I thought I was going to have to do some kind of power automate, but they can just click on the gifts in their work center every day to see the info! My DOH moment. I really need to learn the web view, but there is still so much we can't do there, it's hard to learn it when I can't do the same things that I can do in db view. I need one of those “from my cold dead hand” t-shirts :-)

can't blame you for that, it is true that from an administrative angle, there is still a lot that can't be done for role that does db management and gift entry.

I suggest you will want to take some NXT webview classes and also attend the upcoming November PUB (product update briefing), which will have some very important updates relating to gift batching

@Rose Dixon Laughing as I read this thread. So agree that shouldn't have to be what annotations are used for. But we have dev officer here for 20+ years who sends several of us an email regularly “let me know when payment received.” I created a report he can access in web view showing his recent portfolio gifts but doesn't use it.

We finally gave up and instead told and showed dev staff how to create their own alerts instead of the emails to multiple people. LOL That lasted a month. I think he forgot how to create the alert.

I think my predecessor ran daily reports for him. I never have and had CEOs support that I didn't need to.

  • @Alex Wong I've started taking training and webinars for web view. But so far, in every one I do, I still see I can't use web view for what I do. Some things, yes, but the majority of what I do still can't be done in the wv.
