Event functionality RE-NXT vs. Database View

We have used the Event Module in the Database View since 2010 to track our peer-to-peer fundraising. As an example, we have people who register on a 3rd party site to participate in our Polar Plunge. We import that information in using ImportOmatic to the specific polar plunge event, which we created as a sporting event. This way we can track the team name, the team classification and team captain. We also link the gifts to the participant. It doesn't look like these options are available in RE-NXT. Will the rest of the event module functionality be eventually brought over to RE-NXT?

it depends on where you keep the information, if you are saying you don't see the info in webview, then I will assume the info (i.e. team name, classification, captain, etc) are recorded in participant attribute. Participant attribute (custom field in RE NXT webview terminology) is not supported on RE NXT webview.

While I suspect Blackbaud MAY support this in the future, you might be better use adopting to Blackbaud's change and use Event Option and Participant Option instead.

@Alex Wong Here is a screenshot of what I'm referring to. In the Database view you designate an event as either a Sporting Event, Dinner, Class or Other. If you designate it as a Sporting Event, you get access to a “More Info” tab which lets you make more designations. In NXT you can give the event a Classification, but it does not trigger any more options.

I see, we don't have sporting event so never looked into this feature of RE.

However, if you are not seeing this in RE NXT webview, then it's not available. You can go to IdeaBank and search there, I'm sure there are others that have noticed this missing feature and has requested it, you can confirm that there, and also vote on the idea
