Report Card Access Date/Time does not prevent grade average from appearing early on Report Cards

I discovered today that if a column is added to the report card for a quarterly numeric average, that average will display to students and parents even if the scheduled report card access date and time is in the future.

Per a call with BB Support, the Report Card Access date/time does not affect the display of the numeric average... if it's calculated, it will show up on the report card (early) regardless of the access date/time.

This means that the numeric average column we want displayed each quarter on a report card will have to be added ON THE DAY AND TIME report card access is set to publish the report card to prevent it from appearing ahead of time to students and parents.

This design requires extra unneccessary work. If regular grades shouldn't appear on report cards until the Report Card Access day and time have passed, then grade averages should not appear either. Idea K12OR-I-3383 has been submitted, so votes are welcome - thanks!
