Giving Statements

Hi Friends, We (Eden Theological Seminary) are relatively new to RENXT and want to prepare giving statements to mail. The stock PDF report will be confusing for our donors-we haven't been using receipts consistently, etc. Anyone know if we can customize (remove the contribution amount, receipt amount, and date columns) from the Giving Statements? If so, seems like that would solve our problem for this year anyway! If not, any guidance to a resource for another way to run giving statements for all our donors last year (in bulk) would be AMAZING. Thanks! Sandi

@Sandi Boehlein I'm a little confused on what you would be left with on your giving statement. No contribution amounts?
So you've receipted some gifts but not others? I would exercise caution if you are thinking about issuing a “receipt” for the year. That double-receipting could be confusing for your donors.

There is little editing that can be done on the canned/stock BB documents.
You may want to consider exporting your bio & gift data and merging into your own document.

Option is limited with Blackbaud's statement.

Your options if you don't want to use Blackbaud's statement are:

• export RE data (as mentioned by JoAnn) and do mail merge manually
• search Blackbaud Marketplace and see if there are Blackbaud partner that has a tool (free or paid) to do what you want
• venture into Power Automate and create an automation that will send eStatement to donor and provide you with a word merged document that you can print or go to print house with for those that can't be emailed.
• hire Blackbaud partner to do the above for you

@Sandi Boehlein possibly more than you are interested in or able to do but in the past we have;

1. Exported the needed data
2. Created the general letter saving it as PDF using certain key words to designate where the name(s) and other information goes.
3. We have a simple program that then takes the PDF, inserts the custom data for each constituent then emails it to them.

Anyway, we is/was a no-cost in-house solution for us.

@JoAnn Strommen Thank you! The community has been very helpful and I think I have some options. Might do an export/merge this tie around. Longer term-I definately need to get some more training!
