Did anyone else have a lot of ‘Non attached’ opt outs on January 9th?

Did anyone else have a lot of ‘Non attached’ opt outs on January 9th? I’m NOT talking about opt outs from emails that were sent via NXT. We had a partner school happen to run a query that was essentially “Consent Date = this week” and “Response = opt out” and they happened to find that on January 9th, despite sending fewer than average emails (just getting back from the holiday break and all) they were suddenly seeing opt outs at 3X the highest opt out day of the year and 5X higher than average, but just on that one day.

What’s more the opt outs we’re not tied to any specific email, people who had last gotten an email on 12/17 were on the list, but so where people that last got an email in November or hadn’t gotten an email in longer. Some people opted out once, others opted out 6-9 times on the same day? This phenomenon was repeated between all three of our partner schools (totally separate Alumni pools and totally separate databases) so it struck us as incredibly odd that the three of us would see this on the same day

I then remembered that we wouldn’t have even noticed it if someone hadn’t run an Opt Out report by date, independent of email reporting. So maybe it'd happened to other folks and they just missed it. What we did was we went into Query – Constituent Contact Consents – Consent Date (Maybe just all of January but def the 9th) AND response equals opt out – you can see if maybe this effected your institution as well? So far the ticket I put in with Blackbaud on the 9th is still with the engineers
