GL Distribution in NXT Environment

Hello Friends! As we march toward the end of database view this year, we are making a list of business procedures which use it and thinking about how to accomplish without. First on my list is updating GL distributions for new funds setup. For that, we use database view in both RE - to update the GL distributions - and FE via Plug-In to update accounts. When I poke around the menus in NXT environment, I don't see anything about GL Distributions. I also cannot find anything in help search on how to accomplish this. Has someone been down this road before and can provide guidance? Thank you!

@Aaron Forrest For now, you still need to do it in database view. That may change in the very near future though - things are coming at a rapid pace these days!

Total Web Solution (FE sooner RE later, actually no real date for RE) is not truly here yet.

Blackbaud still has some ways to go before FE is ready, not to mention RE has a LOT more work to get done.

GL Distribution is one of them and I can't wait for that to come to webview as loading the GL distribution tab in fund takes forever in dbview.

@Aaron Forrest Following as I have this same question. You can't add the GL Distributions or even view them from what I can find.

@Aaron Forrest Not sure where you got that information of RE Database ending at the end of 2025, but that is actually not true. There has been no official message of that happening and I doubt we would really see that for a long time, since RE NXT has a long way to go to catch up with many of the database features.

Omatic Software's PostOmatic product has some great tools for mass uploading/updating GL distributions into the RE Fund GL grids, but currently, that has to happen in the database view.

@Aaron Forrest It's of big concern to our organization that GL Distribution is not available/viewable in NXT (I.e. web based view). I spoke to BB Support about this and it isn't even on their radar and I was told to post it as an idea. Here is the link to where I posted it in Ideas …

Right now it can only be viewed in RE (i.e. database view). I encourage all on this thread to vote if it is important to your organization.

I agree Funds should not have been released without the ability to set the GL distributions.

Side Note: When Posting via the web view was released a little while ago in APAC Region I did a bit of testing and discovered a serious flaw.

I have evidence at least in our instance that it ignores the RE appeal and uses the default transaction code on the account in FE.

I'm still waiting on advice from BB.

Has anyone seen updates on whether GL Distribution is in NXT yet? I looked this morning and could not find it.
