how to record a DAF contribution

There are varying opinions on recording DAF. Have you read some of the previous posts? With the increase in DAF giving it's a fairly hot topic. Some DAF orgs specifically say it can not pay an irrevocable pledge, others just say pledge.
Some accept as cash and decrease the existing pledge. Some apply to pledge. Some put it on an org record & SC, some create say Fidelity-Johnson record to place the gift & SC, and others just put it on the donor who advised. Each org needs to study the issue and set a policy/procedure.

@Christie Altman I would echo @JoAnn Strommen and I would also encourage you to look at how your organization has done it historically. There are a few different ways to do it, but the main things to consider are ensuring that your data entry is consistent and that you do not issue a receipt for a DAF.
